{"id":346,"date":"2012-02-13T01:39:04","date_gmt":"2012-02-13T00:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradfordflowerclub.org.uk\/?p=346"},"modified":"2012-02-13T01:39:04","modified_gmt":"2012-02-13T00:39:04","slug":"january-2012-club-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bradfordflowerclub.org.uk\/?p=346","title":{"rendered":"January 2012 Club Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong>THE BRADFORD FLOWER CLUB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>MINUTES OF THE CLUB MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 16 JANUARY 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>AT HAWORTH ROAD METHODIST CHURCH <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">In Attendance<\/span> \u2013 there were 52 members and 1 guest in attendance<\/p>\n<p>2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Chair welcomed everyone to the first meeting of 2012<\/p>\n<p>3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Club notices<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Chair was sorry to announce that Pat Moody\u2019s husband died on the 6<sup>th<\/sup> December. Pat had helped Vivienne with the register until this last year when she was unable to renew her membership as she was unable to leave her husband because of his illness.<\/li>\n<li>Thanks were given to all who had supported the Christmas Fuddle, bringing food and entering into the spirit of the evening. The room and hall looked fantastic.\u00a0 Sandra Woodhouse who had won the Christmas dress had been in hospital for an operation to pin her toe. She was sent wishes for a speedy recovery.<\/li>\n<li>The Minutes of the December meeting had been placed on the notice board and these would be signed after the meeting if everyone was in agreement.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Annual <\/span>Dinner \u2013 as this was the Clubs Emerald Year (55<sup>th<\/sup>) the Chair invited everyone to join the celebrations on 5<sup>th<\/sup> March.\u00a0 Booking forms and invitations to be collected from Vivienne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0Menu choices to be indicated on the form and these were to be returned by the February meeting. \u00a0The evening was expected to be very enjoyable and guests were very welcome. Any donations of prizes for the raffle would be gratefully received \u2013 to be brought on the night or to the February Club meeting.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter from Wendy Davis NAFAS new National Chairman was read out and other leaflets are available on the Notice Board.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Harrogate Spring <\/span>Show &#8211; The club had been invited to stage an arrangement at this Year\u2019s Harrogate Spring Show over the weekend of the 26-29<sup>th<\/sup> April. The Chair felt it was a privilege for the Club to be asked as well as rather daunting.\u00a0 Sheila Boyes had agreed to lead a team to design and build a display entitled \u201cOur Town\u201d. \u00a0Some people had already volunteered to help but Chair welcomed offers from others and asked for Members\u2019 support at the Show.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Coach Trip to Burton Agnes Hall<\/span> was being arranged for Saturday 30<sup>th<\/sup> June. Costs were expected to be in the region of \u00a322 for a full days outing; entrance to the Hall and moving onto Bridlington later in the day. \u00a0More details will be available at the next meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a04.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Demonstrator<\/span> \u2013 The chair welcomed Margaret Peet with her title \u2018Life After size 14\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Margaret who is a past NAFAS Area Chair gave a very interesting and amusing talk on her work as a lifestyle consultant.\u00a0 Since leaving her previous job she has retrained through \u2018Colour Me Beautiful\u2019 and now advises on image for her clients. \u00a0She talked about her size and how a person\u2019s image could be completely changed by the way they dressed and choice of colour themes \u2013 skin, hair and clothes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Chair presented Margaret Peet with flowers.<\/p>\n<p>5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The following ladies won flowers:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mrs Morrell<\/li>\n<li>Gill Tomis<\/li>\n<li>Mrs Sayers<\/li>\n<li>Mrs M Marshall<\/li>\n<li>Sue Hawkins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0Members were invited to join in refreshments after the meeting.
