‘Le Tour Yorkshire’ a flower demonstration by Vanessa Wellock
Monday 15th June at 7.30pm

Vanessa has been a Florist for 30 years and lives in Ilkley. Entered Chelsea 2 years ago. Vanessa is doing the Yorkshire Show but is away the two weeks before so a bit of pressure.

She did 5 demonstrations for us.

First Demonstration:-
Represented Leeds and the start of the Tour Yorkshire using two bicycle wheels and yellow flowers for the Yellow jersey.

Second Demonstration:-
Representing Headingly in Leeds with two cricket bats and various flowers.

Third Demonstration:-
Representing Malham Cove with a large container like a hanging basket covered in moss and fern.
Sedum, blue Nigel, blue Delphinium, Penstenum,  Clematis, Roses, Scabious.
Vanessa also had made a smaller version of this arrangement.

Fourth Demonstration:-
Representing a tribute to Betties in Ilkley, Harrogate and York.
Shaped as a cake using a big oasis ring covered in Kioki paper.
Plenty of lavender was used as Betties also use a lot of this in the goods. Sedum and other greenery. Dark Green China Grass, Memory Lane Roses to remind us that afternoon teas were very popular and are perhaps coming back. Large Purple Hydrangea , Scented Daisy Gerbera and pink Orchid to represent fondant icing.
Again as smaller version was produced.

Fifth Demonstration:-
Representing Skipton Sheep Festival
Platted Ferns to represent Rams Horns and 2 rings covered in wool.

Winners of the photographic competition were also announced.
